Choose your condition

NHS Pharmacy First covers these seven conditions in England. The age limits are set by the NHS. Six can be done on a video call; earache is seen in the pharmacy.

Medicines: if you are given a medicine in England, the usual NHS prescription charge applies unless you get free prescriptions.

In Wales: a separate NHS scheme covers a wider range of common conditions. Ask at your local pharmacy.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Answer the health questionsAbout you, your NHS details and your symptoms. It takes a few minutes.
  2. Step 2: Video consultation with a pharmacistA pharmacist from iPharm (part of Allied Pharmacies) calls you on video. Keep the status page open to join.
  3. Step 3: Treatment or adviceIf you need a medicine, iPharm posts it to you free. Otherwise the pharmacist advises you.

The pharmacist calls from the pharmacy you choose, while it is open. You need a phone or computer with a camera. You don’t need a GP appointment.
